DAMIANO, Alfonso It is with great sadness the family of Alfonso Damiano announce his passing on Monday, February, 26, 2007 at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS in his 91st year. Dear beloved husband of the late Maria Grazia (DiSanto). Cherished father of Angela (Vincent) Evangelista and Libby (Sisto) Scappaticci. Loving Nonno of John (Sherry), Robert (Susan), Andrew (Margaret), David (Ines), Alana and Andrea. Loving Nonnino of Rose Marie, Grace, Sophia, Luke and Maria. Predeceased by his sisters Francesca, Incoronata, Matilda and his brothers John, Nick and Anthony. Alfonso was born in Guardia Lombardi, Avellino, Italy. He served in World War II and immigrated to Canada in February, 26, 1952. Alfonso is resting at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines until Wednesday at 10:30am. Funeral Liturgy at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11am. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers for Alfonso on Tuesday evening at 7pm. In accordance to his wishes, cremation will follow the service with a private family inurnment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated by the family.
