Obituary of Gertrude Irene Weir

Weir, Gertrude At the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on Wednesday February 21, 2007 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late William Weir and loving mother to John (Sue) Weir and Frances Sharpe. Cherished grandmother to John's children Brian (Janice),Jeffrey (Irene), John (Twyla) and Tracey (Tim) Letkemann, Frances's children Scott (Lyn), Mark (Joyce), Corey and Debbie Minton (Harold) and Lorne's (Gloria) children Christopher (Cheryl), Matthew (Paula) and Eddie Weir. Always proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and remembered them all on their "special " days. Gertrude will be missed by her sister-in-law Betty Moore (Harry) and dear niece and friend Erie Tudhope- MacLean and good friend Nancy Neilsen. More recent friends and show buddies Muriel and Glenda are going to miss "Trudy " making up the foursome for lunches and movies. She was predeceased by her dear son Lorne Edward and brother William. Gertrude was past regent of I.O.D.E. Barrogill Castle Chapter in Toronto. Trudy maintained her love for family and friends with grace and style. Gertrude's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street on Sunday February 25, 2007 from 11 am to 1 pm. A celebration of Gertrude's life will then follow in the chapel at 1 pm. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery to be held at a later date. If desired memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara or a charity of your choice.
