DiMatteo,Rosalba -Died peacefully at home with her loving family at the age of 96 on December 10,2006. Loving wife of the late Francesco Valvano . Loving mother of Rosa Petriello { and her late husband Giuseppe} and to Gaetano (Carmela) Valvano of Guardia Lombardi Italy. Beloved grandmother to Luigi {Elvira} Petriello,Frank {Denise} Petriello and to Pasqua{Serge} Giancaterino of St. Catharines.Nonna will be dearly missed by her grandchildren in Italy, Maria {Gerardo} Cappa,Franca{Domenico} Flammia and Giuseppe {Gerarda} Valvano.Loving great grandmother to Joseph,Nicholas,Rosaly,Sabrina,Jennifer,Melissa,Joel,Luca,Angela, Antonella,Emanuele,Esterina,Serena,Gaetano,Gianluca,Pietro. Predeceased by her brothers Gaetano and Raffaele Di Matteo of Mt. Vernon NY. Rosalba will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews,family and friends.A member of St. Alfreds Church since her arrival from Italy in 1991. She was a Saint who healed many and was the sun that shone bright on us everyday. She will be greatly missed and always loved by everyone that knew her. Rosalda is resting at The George Darte Funeral Chapel,585 Carlton Street.Visitation will be held Monday from 7-9pm and on Tuesday from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be on Tuesday at 3pm.Funeral service to be held at St. Alfreds Church on Wednesday at 2pm with entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetary. Memorial rememberances to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
