Obituary of James Bernard Hatt
HATT, James Bernard-
At the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on Tuesday November 21, 2006 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Lillian (Roebuck) Hatt and loving father to James (Jan) of New Orleans, Timothy (Terry) of Jordan, N.Y. and Brian of St. Catharines. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren David, Tammy, Samantha, Josh, Madison and Megan. Dear brother of Robert (Thelma) Hatt of St. Catharines and brother-in-law to Lana Duke of New Orleans. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by parents Nell and Bern Hatt and granddaughter Jodi Hatt. He was born in Niagara Falls N.Y. and worked as a truck driver for Gibson Cartage and Husband Transport, retiring in 1987. Jim was a WWII Veteran, having served in Europe with the 740th AAA Battalion in the U.S. Army. He was involved with the Spartan Athletic Club having acted as both coach and director. Jim was an avid auto racing fan and enjoyed traveling and camping in his trailer. Special thanks goes to doctors Chauhan, Fornasier, Hartman and Lee as well as the nursing staff on Community 3 East at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their excellent care and support. A private celebration of Jim's life was held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME. Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the War Amps or the chairty of one's choice.
