Obituary of Theodore (Fred) Nakoneczny

Nakoneczny, Theodore (Fred) - On Wednesday November 1, 2006 at Extendicare in his 78th year. Son of the Late Steve and Barbara. Survived by his son Richard (Winnipeg) and several relatives in the Ukraine. Godfather of Alicia Gatt and best friend of Henry and Olga Czerwoniak. Fred moved to St. Catharines at an early age and established himself here in the city. Fred worked for the Atomic Energy Commission in Toronto for several years. He was an avid reader, enjoyed collecting classical music, as well as stamps and historian of the Ukrainian pioneers in Canada. Mr. Nakoneczny is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 2pm. A funeral service will be celebrated in the George Darte Funeral Chapel at 2:30pm. Interment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery following the chapel service. Visiting hours are 2-4 and 7-9pm on Thursday. Panachyda will be held on Thursday at 7:30pm in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund in Fred's honour.
