Obituary of John Michalko

MICHALKO, John "Ivan" Passed away after a lengthy illness on September 11, 2006 at the Welland Hospital -NHS at the age of 82. Loving husband of Valentine and cherished father of Olga , Roman and Halia. Beloved and dear grandfather of Christine, Andrew and Matthew. Also survived by his family in Ukraine. John was born in Ukraine in 1923 and came to Canada in the years following World War II. John's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, September 13th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Panachyda at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30pm. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 14 Rolls Avenue, on Thursday, September 14th at 10am. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Heritage Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
