Obituary of Robert George McMullen

McMULLEN, Robert Suddenly, following knee replacement surgery ,on Friday, July 21st, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in his 86th year. Loving father of Sharon and Rudy Wieler and Rob and Louise McMullen. Dear grandpa of Sara and Dave Chuchman and Andrew Wieler and his fiancee Deanna Knighton. Also survived by his sister Ruby Hall of Cambridge, Ontario, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George and Jane McMullen, sisters Elsie (Clare) Fowler and Ellen (Fred) Price and brother Tom (Betty) McMullen. Bob was a retired General Motors employee and a dedicated member of the Port Dalhousie Legion Branch #350 . Bob really loved his music. He and his brother Tom were active country and western musicians and entertainers in the Niagara Region for many years. The last two months of his life, Bob found happiness living at Anchor Pointe where he enjoyed the company of the people there. We will miss the little jingles he used to sing to us which made us laugh. Bob's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, July 25th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Legion Service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 26th in the funeral home chapel at 11am. Interment to follow in the Veteran's section of Victoria Lawn Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Port Dalhousie Legion. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
