Obituary of Peter Washuta

Washuta, Peter - Died peacefully with the support of his family on Tuesday July 18, 2006 at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 82nd year. Loving husband to Dorothy for 53 years. Sadly missed by his daughters Carol Perry (Doug), Debbie Davey (Harvey). Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Tara and Ryan. Survived by his brothers John (Margaret), Mike (June), Steve (Sonia) of Lewiston, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother and sisters Ray, Anne, Alice and Mary. Peter was a member of the St. John Theologian Church, CAW 199 and was a proud employee of General Motors for 34 years. Mr. Washuta is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 10:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at St. John Theologian Church at 11am, 91 Lakeshore Rd. Visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Panachyda for Mr. Washuta will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 7:30pm. Cremation to follow the visitation. Memorial remembrances may be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Wellspring Niagara in Peter's honour.
