Obituary of Tekla Shypowskyj

SHYPOWSKYJ, Tekla It is with great regret the family announces the passing of their mother Tekla on Wednesday, July 5th at the St. Catharines General Hospital -NHS in her 85th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Stephan (2002). Dear mother of Anne (Bill) Walters, and Orest (Joanne) Shypowskyj of Port Colborne. Proud Baba of her grandchildren Billy (Heidi) Walters, Jerry Walters, Susan (Steve) Christie, Stephen Shypowskyj. She will be missed by her great grandchildren Brianna, Shayna, Samantha and Simone. Also survived by family members in Ukraine. Tekla's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, July 7th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church,91 Lakeshore Rd., St. Catharines on Saturday, July 8th at 9:30am. Rite of Committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7:30pm. If desired, memorial remembrances to the Children of Chornobyl Fund, per her wishes, would be appreciated by the family.
