Obituary of Rene John Lavigne

Lavigne, Rene John †" Passed away with family at his side on October 1, 2008 at Linhaven Home for the Aged at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Therese (nee Burnet). Loving father of Monique (Brian) Finora and Michel (Caroline Howe) Lavigne. Cherished grandpapa of Victor (Jenny), Nathalie (Michael) and Marc Lavigne. Rene will be sadly missed by his siblings Edna Lalonde, Dora (Robert) Charbonneau and Lionel Lavigne and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephew and many friends. Predeceased by his sister Alice Lamarch. Rene was a dedicated retired employee of General Motors Canada. He was an active volunteer with Knights of Columbus, The Holy Name, Le Club Amite, Club Soleil and Club LaSalle. Arrangements entrusted to GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2008 from Immaculate Conception Church at 11 a.m with inurnment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
