Obituary of Giovanni Ragusi

RAGUSI, Giovanni After a brief battle with cancer, it is with great sadness we say goodbye to our Husband, Father and Nonno who passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at age 72. He is survived by his loving wife Pasqualina, sons Carlo and Marcello (Suzanne), daughter Rita Ventresca (David). His 2 beloved grandchildren Robert and Laura will dearly miss their Nonno John. Giovanni is also survived by his sisters Antoinetta and Elia, and his brother Mario. Predeceased by his brothers Fernando and Michael. Giovanni was a skilled welder for over 25 years at Foster Wheeler and took great pride in his work. One of his great enjoyments was reading a good Italian book. He was also an avid gardener and spent many hours tending his garden, fruit trees and flowering trees, which gave him much happiness. Giovanni's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Tuesday, September 30th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street on Wednesday, October 1st at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers for Mr. Ragusi will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday, September 30th at 8pm . If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
