"High Flight"
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Aunt Edie, John, Tim and Heather,
My condolences to all of you in the loss of Uncle Cal. He was a very special person and a favourite uncle. My fondest memory of him is, occasionally when I would arrive home from school, he would be sitting in our kitchen talking with my parents. I would know he was there almost immediately because I would be greeted by his laughter. He had the richest-sounding laugh - so full of fun and warmth, and it was contagious too. He brightened people's spirits wherever he went. I will always cherish the memory of his laugh. It was ever-present, and such a big part of him.
Love, Janet

We have a lot of great memories of Cal, Edie and family. Cal enjoyed his many trips on his bike to Holland Centre and his many stops playing piano at the pubs on his way from St Catherines. We will miss him. Tim, John and Heather keep in touch.

My sincere condolences to Tim, Heather, John, Edith and the extended family on the loss of Cal Himes. I had the pleasure of knowing him the last few years, and the stories and memories shared by his family speak highly of his strength of character. Hearing about his dedication to his work and family, the music he played and the countless stories of great fun and adventure he had has truly left a great legacy and a life to celebrate. I am grateful to know of the powerful and positive influence he has had on the lives of so many, and see this live on through the love and generosity of his children.
With sincere sympathy,

We were sorry to ready in the 'Owen Sound Sun Times' today of Cal's passing.
Cal. was a regular around our house when I was growing up. He taught my brother and I to play the piano by ear, and it was because of this that my brother went on to play in various bands and has such a great love of music.
I did not kept up with the piano, but will dust off the keys today and play, 'Ain't Misbehaving' in memory of Cal.
With our Sincere Sympathy,
Susan & Tim

Cal's presence at the Glendale Yacht Club has been greatly missed in the past few years and will continue to be missed. The fond memories as a child by the campfire with his friends and his fiddle will be a memory I cherish forever. To John, Tim, Heather and Edie, I send my condolences. Your family has always had a special place in my heart. I hope that the music that Dad always shared will continue to follow you in everything that you do.
God Bless! Janet Ireton Lawler and family.
