Obituary of Filomeno Gabriele

GABRIELE, Filomeno- Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at the St. Catharines General Hospital- NHS, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Giuseppina (Josephine) [2004]. Loving dad of Joseph (Janice), Tony (Wendy), John (Dorothy). Cherished nonno of Joseph Jr. (Linda), Jo-Ann (Greg), James (Leanne), Jeremy (Jennifer), Mia, Paul, Preston, Marty (fianc�©e Stephanie), Thomas and Marcus. Great granddad of Joshua, Erika, Liana, Alex, Stephanie, Lauryn, Nicole, Jordan and Darah. Dear brother-in-law of Clotilda and Annina. Filomeno is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Teresina, and by his siblings Florindo and Angelina, and by his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Angelo, Armando, Igino, Cesina. Filomeno was a veteran of WWII where he served in Italian Army. Filomeno came to Canada in 1950, where he worked at Thorold Concrete Block retiring in 1979. He was also a dedicated parishioner at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church since 1950. Mr. Gabriele is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., until Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St, on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at 11:00 a.m.. Followed by entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Public visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, August 15, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday at 3:00 p.m. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
