Obituary of Stanley Pogoda

POGODA STANLEY Peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and children, on Tuesday July 8, 2008 at Hamilton General Hospital, at 79 years of age. Beloved husband of Jennie (nee: Kocon) for 58 years. Loving father of Adele (Dave) Long, Carolyn (Ralph) Kocis, Marianne (Gordon) Rosa and Ed (Nancy) Pogoda. Cherished grandfather of Christopher (Cari), Kyle (Margarita), Chad (Venus), Nicole, Julie (Stephen), Kimberly (Dan), Lisa, Cory (Ashleigh) and special Dziadzi of Devon, Brody, Quinntinn, Olivia, Gracie, Grier and Wesley. Dear brother of Frank (Gerry) and sister in law Teresa Pogoda. Stanley will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family in Poland, many friends and especially by his Misha. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Pogoda and brothers John and Edward. Stanley worked for over 40 years with Eaton Yale and Towne, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and an active member of the Canadian Polish Society Mr. Pogoda is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. until Saturday at 10:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 11am. Cremation to follow. Visiting hours are Thursday 7-9pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 7pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stoke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
