Peacefully with her husband and children by her side on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 67 years of age. Beloved wife of Antonio, loving mother of Mary (Tony) DePascal, Angela Rose, Joe, Rob (Jennifer), loving Nonna of Laura, David, Mason and Robyn, dear sister of Nicolina Parente of Italy, dear sister-in-law of Theresa (the late Pasquale) Bagnoli and brother-in-law Nick (Angela) Elia. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Elia was a member of St. Alfreds Church. Carmela will be remembered for her courage, strength and the great love she had for her family and friends.
Mrs. Elia is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church at 11 a.m. with Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 6:30-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers for Carmela will be celebrated in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Memorial Remembrances can be made to Toronto General Western Hospital or Liver Foundation of Ontario.
