Obituary of John Hatala

Hatala, John - On Thursday June 12, 2008 in his 78th year at Hospice Niagara after a courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered by his wife Vera of 52 years. Loving dad of Judy McEwen (Kim), Cathy Leger (Tom) of Aurora, Susanne Jakubowski (Michael) of Burlington and Andrea of Toronto. Devoted Grandpa of Alan, Cory, Mary, Roman, Rebecca and Nicholas. Survived by his brother Andy, sister Emily Vincent (Ray) and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Predeceased by his brother Paul. Mr. Hatala is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Church on Monday at 11am with cremation to follow. Visiting hours on Sunday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be recited at 3pm in the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara in John's honour.
