Obituary of Katarina Hirter

HIRTER, Katarina (Katie)- Passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 4, 2008, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Walter Hirter (1984) and Heinrich Reinhold (1944). Loving mother of AnneMarie and John Stockwell. Cherished Oma of Ted Stockwell of Bellevue, WA and Donna Stockwell who was with her during her last days; and great grandmother (Old Oma) of Thomas and Sarah of Oakville. Also survived by her stepsons Jim Hirter (Barry's Bay) and Gerald and Pat Hirter (Victoria, BC.) and their families. Katie was predeceased by her sister Anni Fuchs of Mahlerten, Germany (April 2008) . Katie was a dedicated parishioner of St. Denis Church since earliest days. She managed the St. Denis religious counter (in the back of the church) for many years. Katie was an active member of the St. Denis C.W.L. for over 50 years. Katie was also a founding member of German Club Heidelberg. Katie is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. (at Bunting Rd), then to St. Denis Church for Funeral Mass, on Monday, at 10 a.m. Internment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 3:00 p.m. At the request of the family, donations to the Roy Adams Center (Alzheimers) would be appreciated.
