Obituary of Veronica Eva King

King, Veronica "Vera" Peacefully at her residence in Wellington Terrace, Fergus on Saturday May 17th, 2008 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert King (2001). Loving mother to Robert (Anne) of Fergus, Ron (Eilene) of Edmonton and David (Margaret) of North Carolina and their families. Cherished sister of Tom (Ellen) of St. Catharines. Born in Osijek, Yugoslavia, Vera came to Canada at the age of 7. She was educated in Toronto, and then married Robert in St. Catharines where they resided for many years. Vera was a dedicated employee of Easter Seal Society where she worked as a secretary. A renowned artist of watercolour paintings, she leaves behind a wonderful legacy of colour for her children. She was a member of St. Catharines, Niagara and Ontario Art Associations, a choir member at St. Julia's Church and she loved to dance. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday May 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated from St. Julia's Church on Friday May 23 at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. If so desired, donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
