Obituary of Anna Fortuna

Fortuna, Anna - Passed away peacefully after a valiant fight against cancer on Thursday May 15, 2008 in her 51st year. Beloved mother of Amanda and Jordan and adored daughter of Carmela and Alberto (2007). Loving sister of Lidia (Antonio) and Dino (Janice). She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews Rosella, Michelangelo and Carmelina, as well as her cherished friend Peter and his family. Anna leaves behind her extended family at Mountainview Homes. Her family would especially like to thank the Basciano and Memme families, and Rick Podrebarac for their compassion, caring and support. They would also like to thank all of the Doctors and Nurses of the Hamilton and Niagara Health Care System for helping them through this difficult time. Anna will be fondly remembered by her many friends. She will live on in our hearts forever. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Monday May 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated from St. Mary of the Assumption on Tuesday May 20 2008 at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be held on Monday at 3:30 from the funeral home. Donations made towards cancer research and support services would be appreciated by the family.
