Obituary of William Mocha

MOCHA, William "Bill"- Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of 63 loving years to Mildred. Cherished father of Patricia of Kitchener and Donna (Gary) Martens of St. Catharines. Special grandfather of Christopher and Matthew. Brother of Stella Tapak and Paul (Georgina) of Thunder Bay. Brother-in-law of Theresa Mocha and Aileen (Tom) Murray of Toronto, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his daughter Joanne, his brothers Peter, John and his sister Jean. Bill came to St. Catharines to play hockey for the St. Catharines Saints in 1938. Bill worked at General Motors for 45 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a long time member of CAW. Bill will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and many friends. A special thank you to all the nurses in the Cardiac Trauma Unit and Palliative Care Unit at the St. Catharines General Hosptial, Dr. H. Kim, Dr. J. Redman, and to the C.C.A.C., for all the care and support given to Bill. Mr. Mocha is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., until Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Liturgy celebrating Bill's life will be held in St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 2 Vine St. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 11 a.m.. Following service, Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 13, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m.. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
