Obituary of Nick Kittl

KITTL, Nikolaus Anthony (NICK)- Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family , on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the age of 67. Beloved husband of 43 years to Carol (Sweeney). Cherished father of Jim (Lisa), Lara and Julie. Papa will be sadly missed by Shaelynne. He leaves behind his brother Mike (Margie), sister Heidi (Ray) Juodikis, sister Anna (Bill) Paroschy, and his aunt Josephine Wilhelm. Nick was also a devoted son-in-law of Yvonne Sweeney, and brother- in-law of Judy (Ed) Barszcz, Brian (Debbie) Sweeney, Jim (Penny) Sweeney, Meb (Paul) Smith. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Nick is predeceased by his parents Nick and Anna, his father- in- law Larry Sweeney, his uncle Michael Wilhelm, and by his two nieces Laurie, and Tina. Nick was proud to be a teacher, and devoted over 30 years of his life to education as a teacher and consultant for the Welland County Separate School Board. He was a parishioner and Lay Reader for St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, a member and president of Club Heidelberg Tennis Association, A coach of CYO Hockey, and Youth Soccer. He was happiest when surrounded by the great outdoors, his family, and most of all he enjoyed music and singing. In accordance with Nick's wishes cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy celebrating Nick's life will be held at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 230 Lake St., on Monday, May 12, at 11 a.m. Public visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St on Sunday, May 11, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited Sunday evening at 8 p.m.. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Parkinson's Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Many special thanks to his sister Anna for her tender loving care, to Mitch Zapotoczny for his friendship and dedication, to the staff at Extendicare who went above and beyond, and to Monsignor Cartwright for his spiritual guidance.
