Obituary of Mary Nimeth

NIMETH, Mary Peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 9th at the Linhaven Home for the Aged in St. Catharines in her 92nd year. Much loved mother of Joan Kijanka of St. Catharines, Dorothy Dumka of Vancouver , Jim (Christine) Nimeth, and sister of Lena Barca. Cherished grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 8. Predeceased by her husband Ernest (1983), her parents Nicholas and Dora Lopawchuk and her brother William Lopawchuk. Mary worked for many years at Iona Industries. After retirement, she spent her time volunteering at St. Michael's Church; was an active member in the Holy Rosary Society of St. Peter and Paul Parish and also spent time caring for her grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Details have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines (905) 937-4444. A Memorial Mass celebrating Mary's life will take place at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, St. Catharines and will be announced and held at a later date with a private family inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Welland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or Linhaven for the Aged would be appreciated by the family.
