Dearest Pat:
So sorry to hear of Watson's passing. Our apologies as well that we could not attend the service. Mom gave me all the details and it sounded like a beautiful tribute fit for the wonderful man that Watson was.
Paul and I will always remember his great sense of humour, positive outlook, caring nature and, of course, his one of kind laugh that we heard so many times over the years. We feel fortunate to have had him in our lives and to share in so many of our special occasions and gatherings.
Watson was a great neighbour, person and friend. He was the type of person who to know him even a little was to adore him a lot. Knowing him well meant holding him in the highest regard which we all do.
We hope that the many fond memories that you have of Watson will help you through this difficult time and that you will find strength through the inspiration that he was to all who were lucky enough to have known him.
Take care and we hope to see you soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you daily.
Love,
Belinda, Paul and the kids

We were very sorry and feel sad about Watson's passing away. We spoke to him at the telephone a few months ago, and then he was so optimistic. So this was a shock to us. We have very good memories about the visit of Watson and Patricia to us in The Netherlands two years ago; and we will never forget how they both took care of our son Erik during his stay in their house and his time in Canada. We are very grateful for that. Our prayers are with him and Patricia.
With love,
Peter, Lola, Erik, Leon and Saskia, The Netherlands

It is very sad that another family member has passed away. What is even sadder is that dissension in family carries over even after death. It hurts that many family names have been left out of this obituary. Watson was predeceased by, my grandmother, Gladys Reed. He was loved and will also be missed by his other siblings Alvin(Nancy) Reed, Valerie Newman, Ingrid(Raun) Troyan, Gladys Reed, Nancy Perry and Lloya(Harold) Nicholson.

Dear Patricia
I want you to know that we share the loss of your dear husband Watson.I have worked with Watson for many years at Industry Canada.
He has left a superb memorial for you and for all of us who know and loved him. A beautiful life of noble thoughts and deeds of service to others, of a sense of integrity and understanding in all his contacts.
I think of Watson "standing in the sunlight" with God's work done.
Beyond the edge of time there is a place where happiness and rest wait hand in hand. Wishing you Peace during your time of loss.

Watson and I were childhood friends. Truth be told, he was always a better friend to me than I was to him. As I think back on those times, none of us seemed to have very much in the way of possessions, but we filled our idle hours with loads of simple fun. Hitting a ball around in Riordon Park; waiting for, and taunting the "professional" wrestlers as they made their way from the bus station to the arena; firecrackers; chewing bits of unmelted tar we found in the vacant lot because we thought it was good for our teeth; the occasional swims at Burgoyne Woods pool; and the day the "Tastee Freez" opened on Queenston St. and gave away free cokes.
He was, I recall, always very protective of his sisters and I was somewhat envious of him because Watson was more self-assured, more self-confident and more mature than I was...perhaps because he had to be. I remember him talking about his caddying at the golf course and the sweater he was awarded. We were the only two people from our Grade 8 class who were not allowed to go to the Collegiate but had to attend Sir Winston because we lived on "the wrong side" of Queenston St. We were separated in Grade 9 and lost touch with each other after that. I always meant to contact him and reminisce about the (good) old days but never got around to it.
Now it's too late.
I am so glad to hear that he made such a positive contribution to his community and the world and so sad to think that the world will be a less friendly place with his passing.

My most sincere condolences to Watson's family.
Watson was an honourable colleague, a great human being, of impeccable dress and dignity. We shared many laughs working together.
He would light up so much when he told us about his little dogs, antique car, or his soul mate Pat.
I will especially miss Watty's unique sense of humour.
He was a true friend and I am so sorry for his passing.
