Obituary of Carmine Memme

Memme, Carmine Passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Loving husband of the late Anna Memme (2007) for 65 years. Devoted and much loved father of Frank and Shirley Memme, Pauline and the late Eusebio (1975) Memme, Mary Basciano and the late Nicola (2001), Lou and Deborah Memme, and Ida Memme. Father-in-law of Beverley Barber. Nonno was a great role model and cherished by his 10 grandchildren: Michael (Leslie), Tanya, Jeremy, Dean and fiance Erin, Christopher, Mark (Angela), Michelle (Martin), Ryan (Lori), Stephen and his fiance Amber and Sarah (Trevor). Dearly loved Great Nonno of Matthew, Alexander, Michaela, Markus, Nicole, Julian, Luca, Kaitlin and Michael. Also survived by his sisters, brother and many nieces and nephews residing in St. Catharines, Toronto and Italy. Dad came to Canada from Rocca San Giovanni, Italy in 1953. He was a founding member of Club Roma. Carmine's family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. on Friday from 1-4 and 6:30-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Saturday at 11 a.m. with entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers for Carmine will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Brain Injury Community Re-Entry or Wellspring Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
