I had the privilege of working with Irene at the Lincoln Association for Community Living, from 1980-85. I had enormous respect for her honesty, integrity and decency. Irene and I shared many laughs. She was a gentle spirit.
I ran into Irene again a little over a year ago, at the Peterson's Community Workshop, in Chippawa. It was such a treat to see her. I said I'd stay in touch, but I didn't. And now it's too late. I'm very sad about that.
