Griffiths, Janet Dolores (Nee Dion)
Peacefully succumbed to cancer with her husband Bill and son Marc at her side on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Hospice Niagara in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Bill for 56 years, loving mother of Marc, predeceased by her daughter Lynelle Joyce and her husband Robert, dear mother-in-law of Diane, Survived by her sister Aileen Priddy and brother Bill (Anita) Dion all of St. Catharines and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Wilfred, Connie and Eugene, her sister Edna, parents John and Josephine Dion. Beloved cousin of Florence Logan of Midland. Mrs.Griffiths was a founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church where she was a devoted and active member of the Catholic Women's League and a dedicated member of the choir. She had worked for the C.N.I.B., Linhaven and Regional Municipality of Niagara for 20 years and took early retirement in 1979.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rite of Committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Niagara.
