Obituary of Mary Patricia Butcher

BUTCHER, Mary Patricia "Pat" Peacefully on January 8th, 2008 at Extendicare at the age of 86. Loving wife and companion of Leslie Butcher. Devoted mother of Laura Lesley (Pat) Marchio and Bradford Butcher. Proud grandmother of Julie Ann Shannon, Lisa Marie and Kathleen Elizabeth Marchio. Much loved great grandmother of Cole and Carson Shannon. Also survived by her sister in law and friend Betty Moore, and several nieces, nephews and extended family in both Canada and England. Predeceased by her parents Patrick James and Ellen Moore, her brother Stanley L. Moore, nephew Rick Moore and dearly loved niece Marilyn Baird. Pat was a 70 year member of the Catholic Women's League and past President of the St. Denis CWL. She was a volunteer and held executive positions in many charitable organizations. Mary Patricia's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, January 11th from 7-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Denis Catholic Church on Saturday, January 12th at 10am. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the service with a private family inurnment at a later date. Vigil prayers for Mary Patricia will be recited in the funeral home on Friday at 7:30pm. If desired, memorial donations to Alzheimer Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
