Obituary of Jim Smith

Smith, Jim "Jimmy"- A very courageous man passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at the age of 57. Jim was a very special brother to Anne Marie (John) Haley, Bob (Linda) Newbury, Nancy (Harry) Schofield. Cherished uncle to Shawn, David, Suzanne, Christopher, Michael, Marissa, Christopher, and great uncle to Emily and Abby. Jim will be fondly missed and remembered by his family and by many friends. A special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital and the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Jims stay. Jim's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., on Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. A celebration of Jim's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations made to the St. Catharines General Hospital- Palliative Care Unit, would be appreciated by the family.
