Trude & family,
We are so sorry for your tragic loss. I feel so blessed that I have many great memories of your Mom. Your Mom always stuck up for me when I would be at my Nana's and doing something which wasn't understood by Nana. I have so many memories of hearing the presses shut down and your Mom coming to the front and sitting on a stool to talk to me. Even though I was a teenager she always treated me like an adult and listened to me. She could have been laughing inside, (ha ha) but she always treated me so nice and she seemed to 'young' to talk to. She had a great smile, a great chuckle and a sparkle in her eye that I still see and brought tears to my eyes when I saw her picture. I will never forget what a great lady she was. Our thoughts and prayers are with you & your family at this difficult time. Sincerely, Beth & Arndt Schreiner

Dear Trude, Brian and family. It was with great sadness that we learned of Gisela's passing. I have may fond memories of her at the cleaners, pressing shirts and ironing pants, but always stopping to say hello and talk to me, even in the stifling heat of summer! You could not wipe the smile off her face, she was always enthusiastic! I believe that both Steve and your mother taught me to always stop and talk to people, even if just to say hello, I always felt important. Marsha and I had the opportunity to repay Gisela in a small way a few years ago when her bus tour stopped in Parry Sound. She had wanted that we come to her hotel and say hello, but we coaxed her and her friends to come to our house on the lake for tea and "German" style strudel that Marsha had nervously baked (hoping it passed inspection).
Your mother was thrilled with the opportunity, enjoying every minute, always on the edge of her chair as if her excitement might explode at any minute and she would be off to absorb some other part of our world before she had to leave, (she felt like a queen, and so enjoyed sharing the experience with her friends). It was like having my grandmother sitting across from us again! We were the lucky ones. So cool. I hope this brief memories bring you some laughter and help to ease your pain. Love Dave and Marsha
