Obituary of Virgilio Gino Pellichero

PELLICHERO, Virgilio Gino - Went peacefully to the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 57 years to Elisa Pellichero. Loving father of Mirella Agnoletto, Neris Caccin, Carla Martin, and Denis Pellichero. Nonno will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grand children Steven Caccin, Philip Agnoletto, Tania Serretta, Nevis Private and Michael Pellichero and his great grand children Noah and Mia Caccin, Lucas and Anderson Serretta, and Evan Private. He is survived by his sisters Asunta and Santina and predeceased by his father Mario Pellichero, mother Luisa (Dalbrun) Pellichero, brother Rino and sisters Rita and Angelina. Gino grew up Recoaro Italy. In the footsteps of his father and like so many of his friends and other Italians he immigrated to Canada in 1956. He first settled in Sudbury, Ontario and in 1976, seeking warmer climates, he moved to St. Catharines, ON. He worked for many years as a mason for various construction companies in the great age of construction that helped shape the Canada that we know today. In the 80's he found work with Darte Foundries in Stevensville, Ontario as a steelworker and in 1987 he retired. Gino was an avid outdoorsman (hunter and fisherman) who loved to spend his weekends with family and friends combing the natural reserves for adventure and game. Gino's family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, Ontario on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations in memory of Gino to either the Diabetes or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
