Obituary of Edward Rudolph Kubica

Kubica, Edward Rudolph (Kube)- Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle of cancer, at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, on Sunday, September 16, 2007, in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Julia (Sobala) for 41 loving years, Cherished and loving father of Conrad and Pauline. Son of Albert and Pauline Kubica. Predeceased by his sister Victoria and brother Joseph, and a son. Dear brother of Benedict (Patty) Kubica, uncle of Cathy Kloepfer, Victoria Harrison, Jacqueline Kubica, Rebecca Graves, David Slowik and Jennifer Telitz. Mr. Kubica was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Canadian Polish Society, Royal Canadian Legion-Branch 418, and Knights of Columbus. He volunteered his time throughout the years to various organizations. Edward worked for the City of St. Catharines, for 25 years. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital and the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, for their care and support during Edward's stay. Mr. Kubica is resting at George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate St., on Friday, September 21, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. with Rite of Committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers for Mr. Kubica will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m., with a presentation from the Knights of Columbus followed by a Royal Canadian Legion Service. Memorial remembrances to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada, or the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
