Obituary of Leonard Bruce Freeman
FREEMAN, Leonard "BRUCE"- After a lengthy illness, on Friday, July 3rd, 2009 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Maria Freeman (D'Amelio) for 57 years. Loving father of Patricia (Ed) Miller, Deborah Freeman and Scott Freeman (Madeline). Cherished grandfather of Kelly (Mark) O'Connor of Australia, Robert Miller, Chelsea Freeman and Alex Freeman. Brother of Gordon (Scotty) Freeman. Bruce started his Electrical Apprenticeship at Sterling Electric in St. Catharines. He then worked for Port Weller Dry Docks for 20 years followed by Union Carbide in Welland and ended his working career at General Motors in 1988 when he retired. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday from 7-9p.m. A Memorial Service will take place on Monday at 12p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations to the Salvation Army or the Community Care Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.
