Obituary of Vi O'Mara

O'MARA, Vi Peacefully in her 87th year with her family by her side on June 15, 2009 at Linhaven Home for the Aged. Beloved wife of the late James J. O'Mara (1956). Cherished and devoted mother to Michael (Cathy) O'Mara, Brian (Isabel) O'Mara, Kate (David) Balcombe and Joanne (Gary) MacDonald. Loving sister to Jean Winters, Evelyn Powell, Ron (Francis) Boulton, Shirley (John) Rempel, Barb (Palma) Champoux and Pat (Ken) Oakley. Beloved sister in law to Most Rev. John A. O'Mara, Marcelline Brown, Sister Mechtilde O'Mara C.S.J., Elenanor (Ted) Runge, Gail Boulton and Joan Gibson. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Margaret Boulton, stepfather Clifford Smith, brothers Albert (Evelyn) Boulton, Bill Boulton, Ken Boulton, sister in law Sister Winnifred O'Mara C.S.J. and brother in laws Tom Fulwell, Art Winters and James (Bus) Brown. Vi is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. For Vi's strength, wisdom and grace and her unwavering dedication to her family we will be eternally grateful. For their care and compassion, our heartfelt thanks to the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, Linhaven, Dr. Wong and staff at the Dalhousie House. In accordance with Vi's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private family Mass in memory of Vi O'Mara will be celebrated on Monday, June 22, 2009, at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St. at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Chapel. If desire, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
