Obituary of Giovanna Maria Di Vincenzo

DI VINCENZO, Giovanna Maria(nee Gizzi) Went home to be with the Lord and her husband Pietro (Pete) on Friday June 12, 2009 in her 84th year. Loving mother of Victor and his fiance Sandra Principe and Marina Cardo. Dearest grandmother of Stephanie (Pino) Fratangelo, Elly (Michael) Radowsky, Michael (Kim) Di Vincenzo and Amy-Marie Di Vincenzo. Great grandmother of Noah, Hailey, Nicholas and Alex. She is survived by her sister Petronella and Bernardino Pelligrini of Hamilton, Sister Mary Grace of Italy, and her brother Marino Gizzi of Italy. Giovanna will be missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter in law Emilia DiVincenzo (2000), son in law Frank Cardo (2006). and her 2 brothers Giuseppe Gizzi of Australia, and Vincenzo Gizzi of Italy. and her sister Assunta and brother in law Valentino D'Antimo of Hamilton. Giovanna was long time member of St. Alfred's Church. Giovanna is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Tuesday June 16 2009 at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow service at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday June 15, 2009 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be offered in the funeral home Monday Evening at 8 p.m. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
