Obituary of Joan Marie Cormier

CORMIER, Joan Marie (nee Pollard) passed away peacefully at 74 years of age at home surrounded by her family on April 15, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joan was the loving wife of Edward (Armand) for 58 years and will always be cherished by her five children; son Ed (Kim) Cormier; daughter Linda, her husband Jim Kretz and their children, Laura, Lisa, David and Michelle; son Mark Cormier, his wife Judy and their children Michelle, Christina, David and Katherine; daughter Janine, her husband Rob Hendriks and their children Melissa and Amanda; and daughter Lorraine, her husband Brad Ford and their children Zachary and Addam. Joan was dearly loved by her sister Carol Ann (Kayo) Reed, her brother Gerry Pollard and his wife Ann, brother-in-law Bill Cormier, sister-in-law Marguerite Stack, each of their families, and her many friends. She was a woman of great strength and integrity, always there to help others in any way she could. Her caring words, loving heart and bright smile will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Dr. Wayne Gruber for his dedicated and tender care, and to "Babes" Morales for her help and compassion. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Sunday April 19, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Monday April 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Niagara Warehouse of Hope would be appreciated by the family.
