Obituary of Vinko Jakop

JAKOP VINKO Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday April 1, 2009, at Linhaven Home for the Aged, at 85 years of age. Beloved husband of Emily for 59 years. Loving Ata of Tony (Isobel), Irene, Rick (Deb) and cherished stari ata of Stephanie, Thomas and Katherine. Dear brother of Minka ( Franjo) Mejac. Vinko will be lovingly remembered by family both here and in Slovenia. Vinko was employed with General Motors of Canada for 33 years. He was devoted and most happiest when with his family. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate his life will be held in the chapel on Monday at 12:30 followed by burial in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer's Society or the M.S. Society would be appreciated by the family. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. B. Kerley, Dr H. Wong and the staff of the T. Roy Adams Complex Care for their wonderful care and compassion.
