Obituary of George Schmidt

SCHMIDT, George Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on Thursday, March 12, 2009 in his 76th year. Beloved father of Darrell and Karen (Norman) Kraft and their mother Helen Schmidt. Loving Papa of Sarah and Bradley. Predeceased by his son Dale (2008). George will be sadly missed by his sisters, brothers and extended family. George provided 17 years of care and maintenance to the facilities at Brock University until he retired in 1996. Some of George's favourite times was when he brought his sons and nephews fishing in the Orillia area. Those who remember George in the good times will remember him fondly. A celebration of George's life will be held in the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11 am. Interment will follow service at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
