Obituary of Arthur Zamkow

ZAMKOW, Arthur- Passed away with his loving family by his side at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Helen Alexandra. Cherished father of Krystyna. Special step father of Richard (Ann), Kenneth, Brian (Lisa), Brenda and Gloria. Arthur will be missed by his 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed the company of his many close friends from work and personal relationships. Arthur loved to have friends over to play cards and enjoyed close personal conversations with them. Employed at General Motors for most of his life, Arthur retired in 1991. He was a two time stage 4 cancer survivor and also a long time survivor of a Stem Cell transplant that took place in 2004. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the exceptional staff of the St.Catharines General Hospital for all their care and compassion. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL. Cremation has taken place. As per Arthur's wishes there will be no service. The family wishes to invite any close friends and relatives to the family's home on Saturday, March 14th at 2 p.m. to celebrate Arthur's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Arthur's name would be appreciated by the family.
