Obituary of Michael Avedisian

AVEDISIAN, Michael Passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, May 9th, 2013 in his 84th year. Beloved brother of Alice Avedesian, James Hosepian (Mark Jaques) and brother-in-law of Sam Tokadjian. Cherished uncle of Catherine (Brian) Fogg, Diane (Robert Coddington) Curtas, Mark, and Aram (Tanya) Tokadjian. Great uncle of Brandon, Lauren, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Anne-Marie. Predeceased by his twin brother John (1992), his sister Anne Tokadjian (2008) and brother-in-law Reg Avedesian (2011). Also predeceased and dearly loved by his parents Mary Hosepian (Avedisian, n�©e Hodaverdian) and Aristakes Avedisian. Michael was born in St. Catharines on February 10th, 1930, and was a lifelong resident. He started his own company Aveds Carpets and trained and employed carpet installers in the Niagara Region. He became a respected businessman due to his strong work ethic. Through his friendly, outgoing nature and his business relationships, he became acquainted with many people. He was a member of the Armenian Community Centre and enjoyed attending the Seniors' club. Michael was a devoted & kind member of his family. He enjoyed his independence, regular outings to the Fairview Mall, and maintained it until his brief and untimely illness. He will be greatly missed. Friends and family will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Monday, May 13th from 6-9 p.m. A Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Tuesday, May 14th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Armenian Community Centre.
