Memories of Alton Bennett
Dear Lorna, David & families
It was with great sadness I read in The Toronto Star of your Father's passing.
I had a wonderful visit with Alton on September 13th. (I had many visits along with my late husband,Clare to St. Catharine's and Virgil, with Alton & Mary) On my visit Alton & I talked about our life in Red Bay and the great times we had there. The many potluck dinners, happy hours and the golf games Alton had with "the guys". These memories will always be with me.
Alton & Mary were such a kind, thoughtful & loving couple. I had many phone calls to the both of them, and lately to Alton, who I knew missed Mary so much.
There is no doubt in my mind, that Alton passed away from a broken heart.
I will always remember Alton as the gentlemen he was.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
Sincerely,
Mrs.Nancy Armstong

My sympathies to Lorna, David and Sue, and Jennifer on the loss of your beloved Father and Grandpa. His smile was always winsome, his charitable nature manifest to all his family, his devotion to his wife during her time of sickness loving and steadfast, and his legacy here undying. And you have this assurance from John 11:25-26 (NLT) "I am the Resurrection and the Life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die." This is the hope of the saints. May God surround you with His Angels and support you in His arms as you walk through this time of grief.
