Obituary of Jean Marie Risko

RISKO, Jean (Kennedy) - Peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer on Monday, January 12th, 2009 at Henderson Hospital at the age of 59. Beloved wife of Kent. Cherished mother of Alyson (Dan) Wilson and Jim (Rassika) Risko. Loving Nana of Cassie and Brandon. Special sister to Irene Rhodes, Pat Norquay, Jim Kennedy and Michael Kennedy. Jean will be missed by her best boy, Jack the puppy. Jean was extremely proud of her years of service as a Catholic elementary school teacher. She was an active member of St. Alfred's Church and St. Vincent de Paul. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Center. A special thank you to Dr. Major and Dr. Sedra for their care and compassion. Jean is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday at 12:30p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Juravinski Cancer Center would be appreciated by the family.
