Obituary of Salvatore Biscotti

BISCOTTI SALVATORE On Wednesday January 7, 2009 "He was taken from this life so suddenly, but lives on forevermore in those who loved him" It is with heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend Salvatore Biscotti. He was born in Montebello, Italy in 1932, one of eleven children, of his parents Giuditta and Benedetto. He came to Canada with a dream and suitcase in hand in 1957. He married his wife of nearly 50 years, Giuditta in 1959. He was known as "Sammy" to friends and co-workers during his 30 years of service with General Motors St. Catharines. He was a simple, gentle man who valued his family above all else; a friend always ready to lend a hand. He lived a successful life with dignity, full of hard work, laughter, and love. We will miss him terribly. He leaves behind his sweetheart Giuditta, daughters Loredana and Marilena, their spouses Matthew and Pierre, and his beloved grandchildren Michael, Vanessa, Nadia, and Nicole. He will be missed by his sister Iolanda, brother-in-law Giuseppe, and his nephews Giuliano, Domenic, Rocco, Benito, Gianni, and Giorgio Cirone and their families. He will also be sadly missed by his family in Italy and Belgium. We wish to thank the excellent medical team in the emergency department and ICU at the St. Catharines General Hospital who worked valiantly to help him, and for their compassion in our time of great need. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Friday 1-4 and 6-9pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St. at 9:30am on Saturday. The Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, we request that you make a donation to the Arthritis Society or Nature Conservancy on Salvatore's behalf.
