Obituary of Elizabeth Mitterer

Mitterer, Elizabeth 1928-2008 - Passed away at St Catharines Place on Christmas Eve to join Otto, her life-long love and husband of 54 years. Her last words were "I'm a tough cookie" Elizabeth is survived by her son, Terry, his wife Karen, and grandchildren, Tamara, Kallum, Tearah, and Konnor, her other son, John, his wife, Heather, and step-grandchildren, Kendra and Kayleigh. Living through a depression and World War Two in her native Austria, Lisa followed Otto across the Atlantic to Calgary where they worked very hard to raise two sons and build a good life. They retired to Vernon, in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, where they enjoyed their remaining years together. Throughout life, Lisa was always generous and kind. Her grace in difficult times, and especially as she dealt with her life-ending health circumstances, will never be forgotten. We will all miss you, you beautiful and sweet tough little cookie! Arrangements are entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 905-937-4444. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
