Obituary of Joseph Garbacz

GARBACZ, Joseph- Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the St Catharines General Hospital on Sunday, December 21st, 2008 in his 81st year. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 60 years Else, his children Rick ( Marie) Garbacz, Diana ( Don) Bonazza. Dearest Papa and Grandfather of Melissa ( Jeff), Michael, Kelly ( Jordan), David, Amanda and Christopher. Special sister in law Melitta Russel and Uncle to Gary ( Rose), Terry ( Heather), Zdzislew ( Cecylia) and Peter of Mississauga . He was predeceased by his parents, brothers and sister of Poland. In his 81 years Joseph worked in the mines ( Kirkland Lake) and at General Motors. He was a member of C.A.W Local 199 and of the Legion Branch 418. He loved and cherished his garden, Saturdays at the Pen Centre and spending time with his beloved family and friends. His family and friends will miss his wisdom, sense of humour and compassion for man and life itself.Joseph is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Tuesday at 3:30p.m. in the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Wednesday at 12:30p.m. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to the St Catharines General Hospital- New Building Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
