Obituary of Dennis William Ireland

IRELAND DENNIS - Passed away peacefully at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village on Sunday November 2, 2008 after a lengthy illness, which he bore with courage and grace. Precious husband and treasured friend of Elsie for over 63 years. Proud father of his cherished twins Denise (Harry) and Barry (JoAnne). He loved and was so very proud of his dear grandchildren Baden (Amanda), Tobin (Taylor), Emily (Ryan), and their mother Catherine who predeceased Dennis in 2002, and Philip and Hugh. Survived by his dear sister Ellen in England and his sister-in-law Thelma, who was his faithful and much appreciated visitor. He will be missed by his brother-in-law Eric (Minnie) of Waterloo and many nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Edith. Dennis was content and happy through his life and never lost his sense of humour. He was always dependable, reliable and responsible. He was a good man. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village for their excellent care. Their warm friendship and shared humour were such a source of comfort to Dennis and his family. A celebration of Dennis' life will be held at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village, 413 Linwell Road, Auditorium - B building, on Saturday Novemeber 8, 2008 at 11am. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made to Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village. I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when the day is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun. I'd like these happy memories left, when day is done.
