Obituary of Margaret Ruth Beattie
BEATTIE, Margaret Ruth - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Margaret Ruth Beattie, 76, of St. Catharines on April 2, 2010, at the St. Catharines General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born in Glasgow, Scotland. In her earlier years, her favourite pastimes included dancing, playing cards and travelling. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was the loving wife of Jim Beattie, St. Catharines; and mother of Jim (Cheryl) Beattie, St. Catharines; Carol (Wayne) Metz, St. Catharines; Calum (Launa) Beattie, Sterling Heights, Mi; devoted grandmother of Kyle, Tyler, Campbell, Clarrisa and Desmond. Also, left to mourn is sister, Adelaide Brown, St. Catharines and numerous neices and nephews.
Visitation for the late Margaret Beattie will be held at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, April 6 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in George Darte Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
