Obituary of Mary Kathleen McKey

McKey, Mary Kathleen (nee: FitzGibbon) Passed away at the age of 85, with her loving family by her side, on Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital. Beloved wife for 55 years of John (Jack). Devoted mother of Colleen McKey, Janet (Don) Hull, Loretta (Barry) Inamoto and John (the late Kimberley) McKey. Cherished grandma of Allison, Brett, Eric, Mallory, Jennifer, Caitlin, Jennifer and Tyler. Dear sister of Leo FitzGibbon. Predeceased by her sister Ina Marie Swick, and brothers Vincent FitzGibbon and Joseph FitzGibbon. Mary was a graduate of the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and was an organist at the St Catharines Cathedral and St. Denis Church. Mary was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and a long time member of the Catholic Women's League. Her devotion was to both her family and her faith. Family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrate in Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen St. S., Thorold on Wednesday at 10 am. Rite of committal in Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold. Memorial donations to the Hotel - Dieu Shaver Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
