Obituary of Martin Stanley Swick
Swick, Martin Stanley - On Friday March 5, 2010 at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 87th year with his loving family by his side. Loving husband and best friend of Betty Lou McNulty. Cherished dad to Greg (Sandy), Peter (Lori), Mary-Beth Beaucock (Marty). Devoted Papa to Nathan (Twylla), Matthew (Jennifer), Paul, Sarah, Daniel, Brett, Sean, Katie, Michael, Noah and Nikolas. Also survived by his great grandchildren Perth, Trent and Sydney. Predeceased by his first wife and companion of 53 years Ina Marie (2003) and close brother Edward Sawicki. Marty will be sadly missed by the entire McNulty family and his close friends. Marty served in the Air Force during World War II; was a local business pioneer with Electronic Service Centre; was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24; the Airforce Club; and was a long time member of the St. Denis Church Usher's Club.
Marty's family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street until Tuesday at 10:30am. Visiting hours are Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be said in the funeral home on Monday at 3pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Denis Church, 230 Lake Street on Tuesday at 11am. Rite of Committal will follow the mass at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial remembrances for Marty may be made to St. Denis Building Fund or Project Hero (c/o Niagara College Foundation).
