Obituary of Gwen Ruth Hunt

HUNT, Gwen Passed away suddenly on December 31, 2009 at the Niagara Falls New York Memorial Hospital, in her 72nd year. Devoted wife and best friend of 36 years to Murray, of Fenwick. Loving and proud mother of Gary (Rima) Ward and Rick (Angela) Ward and step-mother of Deborah Hunt (Chris Kapsamalis). Cherished grandmother of Julie, Allan, Sarah, Stacey, Gary, Christopher and Michael. Great grandmother of Jake and Lincoln. Gwen was involved with the O.E.B. which allowed Gwen work with the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival for 27 years. In 1974 Gwen joined her husband Murray and worked with him in the travel industry (most recently working with Sol Travel). In addition to the travel industry, Gwen and Murray host a country music radio show which began November 5, 1981, and aired in both Canada and the United States. Gwen will be deeply missed by her husband, family and friends. Gwen's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Gwen's life will be held in the funeral home's chapel on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow service.
