I am so grateful for the time we had at Hospice. Thank you for the many conversations and especially for sharing such a great movie with Vito and I that Saturday afternoon. It brought us such comfort to us and I think of that day often. The pain is still so deep even though we know what is coming but at least there is some peace in knowing that Jack and Vito are no longer suffering. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Diane Tota and Family.

Jack has come to mind often as I've prayed especially for the family over the past few months. And one day, as I was researching some old gospel songs, I came across Lizzie DeArmond's "Good Night and Good Morning." She wrote it around 1922, when she was grieving over the death of her daughter. I thought of Jack, and of the pain of parting from a loved one. But for the Christian, death's parting is only temporary. The song says it beautifully, so I've included a verse and a chorus below.
I pray that the Lord will minister special strength and comfort to you in these days, and that He will turn the sorrow of Jack's passing into cause for new praise to His great name, by His grace. God bless.
When comes to the weary a bless¨d release,
When upward we pass to His kingdom of peace,
When free from the woes that on earth we must bear,
We†™ll say †œgood night† here, but †œgood morning† up there.
Good morning up there where Christ is the Light,
Good morning up there where cometh no night;
When we step from this earth to God†™s heaven so fair,
We†™ll say †œgood night† here but †œgood morning† up there.

Dear Margaret. Though I only met Jack on a couple of occasions this year, I will remember his sense of humour and the glint in his eye. My thoughts are with you and your family. Take care, Petra.

Karen: I was so sorry to hear about your dad. I remember your mom and him coming in to the Grantham Branch Library when you and your brother were just little - I think he brought you in every week. Perhaps that is why you have chosen the Library as a career. I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and your whole family and that my prayers are with you all at this difficult time. He is gone too soon, but I know that you will all have very fond memories of him and they will bring you comfort in the days to come.
